Directions to the Old Baptist Chapel
By Train:
There is a train service that runs through Bradford on Avon. You can plan your trip using the National Rail website. Here you will be able to view the latest timetable and information. The chapel is situated immediately opposite the top of the station approach road.
By Bus:
The X4/X5 bus services (between Bath and Salisbury) run through Bradford on Avon. You can view the latest timetable and information at the First Bus (Tel: 08456 064446) and Wilts & Dorset (Tel: 01722 336855) websites.
By Car:
From the North East (M4 Westbound)
M4, Junction 17 to Old Baptist Chapel
From the M4 at Junction 17, follow the Chippenham bypass to connect to the
A4 towards Bath.
Follow the A4 through Corsham/Pickwick and bear
left before leaving the 40mph limit on the Bath side - following
B3109 to Bradford on Avon.
Follow the
B3109 for about 7 miles from Corsham, until it brings you to a crossroads (Leigh Park Hotel diagonally to your right) on the outskirts of Bradford on Avon.
Go
straight across these crossroads; follow the road a short distance to a mini-roundabout,
straight across and follow the road to the next mini-roundabout. Turn
right here.
Bear
left at the next mini-roundabout.
This road (
Masons' Lane) is a steep hill with a narrow left-hand bend half way down. At the bottom there is another narrow section and another mini-roundabout. Turn right here and go over the river bridge, following the road as it bears right and then left, to yet another mini-roundabout.
(You will see the Chapel entrance on your left at this junction.)
Car parking is available at the bottom of the railway station approach road, entered by turning
right at this mini-roundabout.

From the North West (M4 Eastbound)
M4, Junction 18 to Old Baptist Chapel
From the M4 at Junction 18, follow the
A46 southwards towards Bath.
This leads direct on to a dual carriageway (the re-routed A4) on the outskirts of Bath (approx. 8 miles from the M4) and you will see Bradford on Avon signposted.
Follow this dualled-up A4 to its end at a roundabout and take the
third exit for the
A363 to Bradford on Avon.
After approx. 5½ miles you enter Bradford on Avon down
Bath Road (A363).
Go
straight across at the first mini-roundabout.
Bear
right at the next mini-roundabout.
This road (

From the South or South-West (A36/A361)
The A36 and A361 join for a short length of dual carriageway at the Northern end of the Frome bypass (East of Beckington).
At the end of this dual carriageway take the
third exit from the roundabout (the
A361 signposted as going to Rode and Trowbridge).
After a couple of bends, and a large church on your right hand side, as you leave the village of Rode take the sharp turning
left signposted Bradford on Avon (on to the
B3109).
Follow this road (3½ - 4 miles) to Bradford on Avon.
On entering the outskirts of Bradford on Avon (down a short hill), go
straight on at the mini-roundabout.
You are now on Frome Road, needing to negotiate various traffic-calming obstacles. Continue round a double bend over the canal bridge, and past a sports field on your left.
Go
straight on at the next mini-roundabout, and shortly afterwards you will approach another mini-roundabout.
The Old Baptist Chapel is immediately to the
right of this roundabout, and parking is available if you turn
left into the railway station approach road.
The car park is located next to the railway station.
From the East (Westbury via Trowbridge)
From Westbury the A350 approaches Trowbridge through Yarnbrook. At Yarnbrook roundabout (Texaco garage on your left) go
straight across on to the
A363.
At the next roundabout take the
third exit and drive through the White Horse Business Park,
straight on at the roundabout in the centre. At the roundabout at the end of the Business Park take the
second exit, turning
right.
After driving past a Retail Park to your right you reach two mini-roundabouts in quick succession. At both of these go
straight on. There are two further mini-roundabouts, at both of which you go
straight on. At the next mini-roundabout take the
second exit (turn right).
Take the
first exit (turn left) at the next mini-roundabout which will take you into Newtown.
At the end of Newtown you will see a large roundabout and traffic lights. Take the
second exit (effectively
straight on) towards Bradford on Avon.
This road leads to Bradford on Avon (
approx. 2½ miles), passing a Citroen garage and then Trowle.
When you enter Bradford on Avon (down a hill, and over a very narrow canal bridge) you will be on Trowbridge Road. Continue straight on until you reach a 'No Entry' sign and you have to turn
left. This is Junction Road. At the end take the
second exit from the mini-roundabout (
turn right) to join Frome Road. You should see a sports field on the opposite side of the road.
Shortly afterwards you will approach another mini-roundabout.

right of this roundabout, and parking is available if you turn
left into the railway station approach road.
